About Us
My name is Lois, I am a 50-something mother of four and grandmother of
two. I worked as a secretary at various places for almost 30 years. My
husband's name is Chip, in his day-job, he works as an Engineering Designer.
Without his help and hard work, I could not be doing this work that I love.
His first and foremost contribution is the love he has for all our dog and
puppies. Everyone looks forward to seeing "Dad" when he comes home for
lunch and again when he arrives home in the evening.
Chip is also indispensable in his role as my "Maintenance Dept". He has built
a very nice groom station, whelping boxes & inserts, unique pet gates made
from recycled bunk-bed frames, fenced in our yard, built a deck & put in
French doors so the dogs/puppies have access to outside from family room.
He repairs and maintains my grooming equipment.
The last nine years of my secretarial career were spent working in the Clinical
Engineering Dept of a local hospital. I loved my job the first 5 years but
became very bored with doing the same thing day in and day out. I made far
too many trips to the cafeteria and ate out of boredom which resulted in my
weight skyrocketing to a record high. We bought a Maltese puppy for my
daughter and before I knew it, I was buying two more puppies.
I couldn't stay off the puppy sites and thought it would be fun to try breeding
part-time. I loved it! The puppies bring such joy and laughter into our home.
I so enjoy being a part of our one of the happiest days of our puppy families'
lives. I have made friends all over the country and hear back from a very large
percentage of my families at least once or twice a year. Many have returned to
add a 2nd Sonne puppy to their family.
Although I love the Maltese, when I knew I wanted to go full-time with
breeding, I felt that my life-time love of Standard Poodles was pulling me in
their direction. I started looking for top-quality pups to add to our home, first
and foremost as our family members. My goal in breeding the Standard
Poodles is to breed dogs who will live long lives due to excellent health and
who will have the calm, loving, loyal personalities that is will bring joy and
contentment to their families. And that the puppies shall have that love
returned to them by their families for all of their lives.
