Frequently Asked Questions
Do you have questions?  You're not alone!
What can I expect from a Sonne Standard Puppy?

Our puppies are all born and raised in our home.  They are vet-checked
and are up-to-date on vaccinations when they join their families.  We begin
interacting with them from Day 1 so that they are very people-oriented
pups.  It has been found that pups who are stimulated from Day 1 learn
very quickly.

Puppies start eating some solid food at four weeks.  Our puppies start crate
training for naps and over-nights when they are six weeks old.  We begin
outside training at 6 weeks.  We begin placing our puppies in their forever
homes when they reach 8 weeks of age for those families who desire the
early bonding experience with their new family member. For families who
prefer more training, puppies are welcome to stay through until the age of
12 weeks at an additional cost.  Some move into Service/Therapy dog
families. Others are ready for those who prefer to bring a more mature,
trained puppy into their home.  We strive to raise healthy, happy and
balanced puppies who are ready to meet their destiny and bring love to
their families and in return to themselves.

Puppies are vet checked at 7 weeks and receive their first set of puppy
shots.  We de-worm the puppies at 3, 5 & 7 weeks. We take pictures of each
puppy frequently so their families can watch them grow.  For families who
pick their puppies at an early age, we start using your name right away.  We
use temporary names for the remaining puppies - sometimes families keep
the name, and other times, they have a name that is special to them.

Do you have genetic testing done on your breeding dogs?

Our dogs that breed have had genetic testing using the Orivet Dog DNA test
and have been cleared of genetic issues.

I live far away.  Can I still adopt one of your puppies?

We prefer that families pick-up their puppy.  However, we know that is not
always possible.  Puppies who join their families between the age of 8-12
weeks are small enough to fly in-cabin with a family member.  We are 10
minutes from  the Canton/Akron Airport.  We are an hour away from the
Cleveland Airport.  We can meet families at either
airport.  Some families fly in and spend an evening so they can pick-up
their puppy from our home.  We can meet families who choose to drive at a
half-way point.  The cost for this service is determined by the length of the
trip.

How much does a puppy cost?

Pricing for one of our Standard Poodle puppies is $1650.   Pricing includes
prepaid AKC Registration(Breeding rights are not included in pricing.), a
starter bag of food, a 3-Year Health Guarantee, Up-to-Date Shot Records
and a toy.  All of our puppies are micro-chipped and registration of their
chip is included.  They continue to receive their puppy vaccinations on a 4
week interval for as long as they stay or until they have completed 3 sets of
puppy shots and their rabies vaccination.

What form of payment do you accept?

We accept cash or personal checks.  If you wish to use a credit card, we can
accept those payments through Venmo or PayPal.

Do you require a deposit to hold a puppy?

Yes.  We do require a deposit of $500 to hold a puppy.  Deposits are
non-refundable. Please make sure that you and your family  are ready to
commit to a new family member before sending a deposit.  For puppies
leaving at 8 weeks the balance due is payable pick up.  For puppies staying
to the age of 12 weeks, a 2nd payment of $500 is due at 8 weeks with the
balance due payable at pick-up.

What is your procedure for bringing home a puppy during this
time?

We are not doing in-home visits.  Families are choosing their puppies from
the pictures before sending their deposit.  At pick-up time we meet outside
and wear our facemasks.
